We are proud to present an official Linux port of netfabb Studio Basic. While offering almost the same functionality as the Windows version, it runs as a native GTK2 application without any exotic dependencies. Therefore, as prerequesite a modern distribution with an OpenGL-capable display driver should be sufficient. In detail, the software includes
- Advanced model browsing and STL management
- Automatic part fixing, mesh editing and analysis
- Measurements and quality assurance
- Packing and machine preparation
- Part slicing and slice editing
We hope that a lot of people will find these functionalities useful, but please consider the download as Alpha-Version. There is no guarantee that the binary will work everywhere out of the box. Due to the diversity of Linux distributions, we heavily rely on feedback and bug reports, so netfabb will kindly ask for your registration. Please support our efforts to bring additive manufacturing to the linux world and send us as many success or failure reports as possible - together with your distribution and hardware settings. We will appreciate any feedback and we will of course be open to any suggestion or feature request. Thank you very much for your participation.
